Tibet Distant View

Comments:  The Yumbulagang Monastery was heavily damaged during the Chinese Cultural revolution in the mid-1960s and reconstructed in the 1980s. Legend says that it was the first building in Tibet and is documented as being built in the second century B.C. for the first Tibetan king. I stood on the edge of its ethereal ramparts, flinging prayer papers into the wind, grateful tears streaming down my cheeks.
