Tibet Potala Palace

Comments:  The Potala Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Lhasa, Tibet. It has been the home to the various Dalai Lamas and seat of Tibetan sacred and secular government from 1645 until the present 14th Dalai Lama was forced to flee Chinese in 1959 after nine years of occupation by its military. The first palace was built there in 637. By the way, the altitude there is 12,000 feet! I climbed stairs to the top of the 13-story complex.
